ack's musical journey started when he was just seven years old. He dreamed of becoming a singer, although this would not be realized for years. As a boy, he was too introverted to sing in front of anyone. So at the age of eight he began his career by singing in a secluded culvert near his home. The acoustics were perfect for this up-in-coming entertainer as he would sit for hours singing to the songs he heard on a transistor radio. In the sixth grade Jack's father bought him a trumpet. He began taking lessons and by high school he was playing in organized bands. Jack played the trumpet for twelve years all the while knowing he should be singing. Finally breaking his vocal shyness, he began performing in front of live audiences as a lead vocalist in several country music groups. Jack credits his father with introducing him to the music of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin and Bobby Darin. It wouldn't be long before Jack developed his own style and distinctive voice. The doors began to open as word spread about this swingin' entertainer on local radio programs and news media.

By performing and networking throughout the Midwest, Jack made contacts that enabled him to share his vocal talents at prestigious venues such as, The MGM Grand Hotel, The Brown Derby and Copa Lounge in Las Vegas as well as Jilly's, Gibson's and The Metropolitan Club in Chicago. So far, Jack Garrett has performed at over three thousand events in a career that has spanned over twenty years. In Jack's words, "I cannot wait to get on stage and I never take what I do for granted. I am so thankful for being able to make a living at something that I love." This is very apparent when you watch and listen to him perform. This full time entertainer always delivers a memorable performance, whether backed by his ten piece band, trio or piano.

Jack has come a long way from that secluded culvert and his mission is simple; "I want to introduce a new generation to music's most enduring songs and to keep singing for those that lived in the generation of those timeless standards."
